No Minibar due to COVID, so instead they are delivering complimentary coffee to guests every morning and at night they deliver *delicious* cookies and popcorn for movie night. Also, their secret Owners Reserve wine list is hand written in a leather bound diary, and consists of wines collected from the owners travels around the world! No events due to COVID but the crafted cocktails at the bar were incredible and are farm-to-glass botanical inspired with liquors from small batch distilleries. Their Chef, Jacob, was trained under Thomas Keller. They plant and harvest from local farms to create a California-forward menu with a little inspiration from Italy and Australia. We loved the rooftop restaurant and ate every meal there! Not to mention, EVERYTHING on the menu is organic and local. During the COVID lockdown when they were using more paper goods than usual due to disposable container rules, they planted a tree for every guest stay! They also won Surfrider Foundations Sustainable Restaurant award. No single use plastic in sight! Their chef also uses every part of a plant so that nothing goes to waste. If "Beach Shack" and Il Pellicano had a baby So, run, don't walk to book your stay!! The only major low is that we could not stay forever With only 20 rooms available, the hotel books up fast. The Rooftop offers some of the most stunning views of the California Coast that I've ever seen! And to add to it, you get to munch on a delicious meal (which is ALL organic, btw) and sip a crafted cocktail (which is farm-to-glass botanical inspired with liquors from small batch distilleries) while taking it all in. We couldn't have asked for a better spot to experience Malibu. We are talking one of the most famous piers and surfing beaches on the West Coast and they are just steps from it. Location! Located right across from Malibu Pier and Surfrider Beach.the property is in PRIME TIME Malibu. Even though there is no pool, gym, or spa, they make up for it through other creative forms of amenities including picnic packages, coffee delivery in the AM and cookie delivery in the PM, complimentary surfboard and wetsuit rental, complimentary Mini Cooper (yes, the car!) rental, and a well curated selection of local brands in their retail space within the lobby. We were blown away at how in-sync all of the staff members were and how much each and every one of them was genuinely passionate about their job.Īmenities. During the entire stay the staff went above and beyond to not only be on a first name basis with us, but to ensure that our stay was more than comfortable. With only 20 rooms, Surfrider is the true epitome of an intimate, boutique experience.
